Billing & pricing

We don’t offer a traditional free trial, but we do provide a freemium version of the app. This lets you explore core features at no cost. You can upgrade to a premium subscription anytime to unlock full functionality— including linking your financial accounts and receiving personalized guidance based on your real financial data.

The app includes a free version you can use at no charge. If you’d like to unlock full functionality—such as linking your financial accounts for personalized guidance and real-time tracking—you can upgrade to a premium subscription.
Premium pricing:
$11.99/month or $119/year for standard subscribers
$4.99/month or $49.99/year if you’re a member of a participating credit union in the BeBalanced program

When you log into the app, you’ll see your available pricing options. If your credit union is an app program partner, the discounted price will automatically appear.

Your subscription period renews automatically—monthly or yearly—unless you cancel before the renewal date.

Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your device’s app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). After cancellation, you’ll continue to have access until the end of your current paid period.

No. We don’t offer refunds for unused portions of your subscription once it’s been paid for.
Managing your account

Go to the Account section (via your profile icon) > Security > Change Password. Forgot your password? Use the "Forgot Password" link on the sign-in screen to reset it.

On the BeBalanced app login screen, tap “Forgot Password”. Enter the email address associated with your account, and we’ll send you an email with instructions to reset your password.
Tip: If you don’t see the email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder.

Currently, you’ll need to contact support by calling 888.456.2227 to update your email or phone number.

You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime through your device’s app store—Balance cannot cancel it for you directly. Once you cancel your subscription, your service will run until the end of that subscription period. After that, your account and all your data will be destroyed, subject to applicable laws.
On iOS (iPhone or iPad):
Open the Settings app on your device.
Tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions.
Find the BeBalanced app in the list and tap it.
Select Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts.
On Android:
Open the Google Play Store app on your device.
Tap your profile icon (top right), then tap Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
Choose the Balance app from the list.
Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
Tip: If you uninstall the app without canceling your subscription, your account may still be billed by Apple or Google until you complete the cancellation in your device’s subscription settings.

To permanently delete your account and data:
Tap your profile icon > Profile > Scroll down > Delete Account
If you only want to delete specific data, please contact support.
Remember to still cancel your app subscription with Apple or Google to prevent further charges.
Security & privacy

Yes. Your privacy and security are our top priorities. We never sell your data, and your credentials and documents remain private and encrypted. For full details, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Only you—we encourage you to use a strong password and activate multi-factor and/or biometric identification for greater security and privacy.

Absolutely. We use Plaid to securely connect with over 15,000 financial institutions. Your login credentials are never stored or seen by us and are sent directly to your bank through Plaid. Additionally, it’s read-only—meaning we can see balances and transactions but can’t move money.
Using the app

No, it’s not mandatory to link accounts. However, it helps the BeBalanced app provide tailored insights based on your real financial situation. No judgment—just valuable guidance you can actually use to improve your financial life.

No, for your security your accounts are linked in read-only format —meaning you (and anyone else who may get access to the app) can see balances and transactions but can’t move money.

Yes. The app connects securely to over 15,000 financial institutions through our trusted partner, Plaid. In some limited instances, a financial institution may not be supported by Plaid. Please contact our support desk if you are having difficulty linking any of your accounts.

Yes. As a BeBalanced app subscriber, you get free access to certified financial coaching. You can talk with a Balance coach about budgeting, debt, savings, credit, retirement planning, housing and more—at no additional cost.

Bravo AI is your smart financial guide inside the Balance app. It uses secure, AI-powered technology to answer your money questions.
Bravo can be accessed within each theme in the app (Spending, Saving, Debt, Retirement, and Planning), and it responds to questions and topics related to the theme you’re exploring. This means you’ll get focused, relevant guidance—whether you’re tackling a budget challenge, planning for retirement, or figuring out how to pay down debt.

Keeping your important financial documents in the BeBalanced app means they’re secure, organized, and accessible anytime you need them. From insurance policies to wills, tax returns to loan agreements, your digital vault keeps everything in one encrypted location—safe from loss, damage, or misplacement.
Plus, having your documents stored alongside your accounts and financial insights makes it easy to reference them when chatting with a coach helping make the most of your coaching sessions.

Need to store important financial documents—like insurance policies, wills, or tax returns—in one secure spot? Using the navigation bar at the bottom of the app, navigate to Files and just tap the ‘+’ button in the bottom of your screen. You’ll see a variety of options that make it easy for you - like uploading a photo, or scanning a document.

In each theme, look for the “Calculators” card. Tap it to open tools that are relevant to the topic you’re exploring—whether it’s budgeting, saving, debt, or planning for the future. For example, in the Saving theme, you’ll see a Savings Goal Calculator and in the Debt theme, you’ll find a Debt Payoff calculator and so on. These calculators give you quick, practical insights you can apply immediately to your financial decisions.

You can manage BeBalanced app notifications anytime through your device’s settings.
On iOS (iPhone or iPad):
Open the Settings app.
Scroll down and select Balance
Tap Notifications.
Toggle Allow Notifications on or off, and choose your preferred alert style.
On Android:
Open your device’s Settings app.
Tap Apps or Apps & notifications. Select Balance from the list.
Tap Notifications.
Toggle notifications on or off, or customize which alerts you receive.
Tip: If you turn notifications off, you won’t get reminders about new insights, coaching sessions, or important updates.
